Enviroschools Facilitator (Early Childhood Education)
Northland Regional Council has a vacancy for a part-time Enviroschools Facilitator (ECE).
In this newly created position, you'll work with early childhood participants: guiding, motivating and supporting them on their journey towards creating a sustainable centre through the Enviroschools Programme. You will also support the Northland Kindergarten Association in their Enviroschools engagement.
We're looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated person to work in our Enviroschools team to deliver in-depth environmental education. The Enviroschools programme supports the council's focus on sustainability, water quality, biodiversity, biosecurity, environmental enterprise and enduring relationships with tangata whenua.
You'll need to have a New Zealand ECE teaching qualification and a working knowledge of Te Whariki - the ECE curriculum. You'll be travelling throughout Northland, so must have a Class 1 driver's licence. At times, you'll be working outside normal hours of work and away from home.
To be successful in this role you'll have a practising knowledge of te reo and tikanga Maori, be effective at building and maintaining relationships and be a team player. Ideally, you'll have experience in working with a range of ECE centres, and be confident facilitating sessions and meetings with groups of ECE teachers.
This is a 12 month contractor position, working 20 hours a week, with opportunity to be renewed annually.
Online applications close at 4pm, Tuesday 17 September 2019.
